Barcelona finally declared that the club legend Xavi Hernádez has now been appointed as the new coach of the club. He’s been appointed on a deal which includes the remainder of the current season plus two additional seasons.
Last month after a dismal start to the season, Ronald Koeman was sacked up. Ronald Koeman who was the coach before Xavi was appointed. Xavi is 41-year-old. The club said that they expect Xavi to travel to Barcelona over the weekend before the formal presentation which is at the Camp Nou on Monday, as the new head coach.
During Xavi’s time at thr Catalan club, he made a record 767 appearances for Barcelona, winning eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.
A new deal with has been signed by Davi with the club in May to extend his contract to 2023.

In an interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson in 2017, Xavi said: “It’s an objective to help them [Qatar] have a good World Cup in 2022, and then in my mind I have it to come back to Barcelona. One of my dreams in the future is to coach FC Barcelona.”
Barcelona is currently in ninth place in La Liga, with 16 points from 11 games, nine points behind current leaders Real Sociedad.
The club is second in its UEFA Champions League group with six points from four games after losing 3-0 to Bayern Munich and Benfica in its first two games.
